2.10.4 Meetings - Ethics Meetings
Ethics committee meetings are conducted to review and evaluate the ethical aspects of proposed trials. These meetings are conducted independently of the trial sponsor or investigators.
In this section you are able to enter information regarding these visits, such as the frequency and number of attendees at each monitor visit meeting.
Please specify total number of ethics meetings
This is the number of ethics meetings which has taken place throughout the duration of the trial.
Please specify average number of attendees per meeting
This is the average number of attendees that attend the meetings during the trial. If you are unsure of this number you can select 'Use approximate value' however this will lower the confidence score rating on the results page.
Please specify the travel profile for meeting attendees
To start entering the travel information for meeting attendees you will need to click on 'Create new travel profile'. You will then be shown a table to fill in.
You will initially need to select the profile type, this means the meeting was an In-Person meeting or a Virtual meeting.
You can then add in a Profile name, this field can be used to help you differentiate between local and international in person attendees for example.
For a Virtual meeting you will need to enter the percentage of meetings that were virtual (online) as well as the hours that were spent in these meetings
For In-Person meetings you will need to enter the percentage of meetings that took place in person.
For example if 5 of your 20 attendees attended in person you would need to put 25% in the percentage box.
For the distances travelled you have the following options available to you:
- Air distance
- Road distance
- Public transport distance
- Hotel nights per attendee
You can switch between Kilometres (km) and Miles in the dropdown box.
Note: The sum of the percentage of attendees for each travel profile should be 100%, if it does not total 100% when you go to complete the step an error message will appear at the bottom of the page
If you are unsure of this number you can select 'Use approximate value' however this will lower the confidence score rating on the results page.
Note: You can add multiple travel profiles here by clicking 'create new travel profile' at the bottom of the page, there is no need to save or add each additional profile, just click 'Complete Step' when you have added in all of the information that you have available to you.
